Rides & Attractions Information

In line with the latest Government guidance, we are delighted to confirm that Alton Towers Resort is now open! We can’t wait to welcome you back!

This follows the successful opening of the Alton Towers Gardens earlier this month and in line with the UK Government guidance on the reopening of open-air attractions.

From 4th July, the rest of the theme park is now open, including the majority of our rides and outdoor attractions, although some indoor facilities must remain closed for now.  We will reopen with significantly reduced numbers and a range of hygiene and safety measures to protect you and our employees.  You can find out more about these measures here.

Remember your face masks!

Guests are required to wear a face mask in order to go on selected rides and we recommend wearing a mask whilst on resort.

Will there be social distancing measures in place on the rides?

In order to minimise contact with other parties, custom strategies for individual attractions will include empty rows and seats within ride vehicles.

What rides and attractions will I need to wear a face mask on?

Guests over the age of 6 will be required to wear a face mask on the following rides:

  • Nemesis, Galactica, Oblivion, The Smiler, Wicker Man, Rita, TH13TEEN, Enterprise, Blade, Runaway Mine Train, Marauder’s Mayhem

Guests must bring a suitable mask with them when they visit or buy one whilst they’re here.  Guests will not be permitted to ride without a face mask, unless they are under the age or 6 or have certain medical conditions / disabilities.  Please contact our Guest Relations team on gs.feedback@alton-towers.com if you have any questions about this.

What rides/attractions will/will not be available during my visit?

We have reopened with the vast majority of our outdoor rides and attractions open, but some rides and indoor attractions may remain closed in line with Government guidance.  We are taking a careful and cautious approach to reopening, so guests visiting in the first two weeks after opening will see significantly reduced guest numbers and may experience reduced ride availability.  Please visit altontowers.com or use the Alton Towers App to check which rides are available on the day or your visit.

Will Early Ride Time still be available?

Due to the reduced number of guests visiting the park each day, Early Ride Time will not initially be available when we reopen. This is to allow for the extra processes that our employees will need to perform each day before the Park opens to guests to ensure the safety of both our guests and employees.
